USAF Thunderbirds  - The aerial precision flying team makes Indian Springs their home training grounds.  From November through March each year the squadron can be seen making their daredevil maneuvers in the sky right overhead in Indian Springs.

Death Valley National Park -  Death Valley National Park has more than 3.3 million acres of spectacular desert scenery, interesting and rare desert wildlife, complex geology, undisturbed wilderness, and sites of historical and cultural interest. Bounded on the west by 11,049 foot Telescope Peak and on the east by 5,475 foot Dante's View, Badwater is the lowest point (-282 feet) in the western hemisphere.  One of the most popular attractions in Death Valley National Park is Scotty's Castle, a two-story Spanish Villa.

Spring Mountains National Recreation Area - This is an area of surprising beauty and remarkable diversity.  You'll find there is a relaxing atmosphere to the Spring Mountains of Southern Nevada.  No matter what one's outdoor pleasure, the panoramic ranges provide a quick getaway, a haven of enjoyment and solitude, a true reward and a rare luxury for everyone living in today's fast-paced society.  Hiking too.

Ski Lee - Las Vegas' closest winter ski resort in the Toiyabe National Forest , only 30 minutes away from Indian Springs.

Desert  National Wildlife Range - The Desert National Wildlife Range was established May 20, 1936, and encompasses 1.5 million acres of the diverse Mojave Desert in southern Nevada. It is the largest National Wildlife Refuge in the lower 48 states. The Range contains six major mountain ranges, the highest rising from 2,500-foot valleys to nearly 10,000 feet.

Ash Meadows National Wildlife Refuge - Established June 18, 1984, is located approximately 45 miles northwest of Indian Springs in the Amargosa Valley of southern Nye County, Nevada. To date, 22,117 acres of spring-fed wetlands and alkaline desert uplands are managed by the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service. The refuge provides habitat for at least 24 plants and animals found nowhere else in the world.

Las Vegas  - The City of Entertainment  with all its lights and sounds is just 30 minutes away from Indian Springs.

Rhyolite Ghost Town - Rhyolite is one of the most photographed ghost towns in the West.  The Bottle House, old railroad depot, and concrete ruins are all that remain, but the town isn't entirely dead. Artists of the latter part of the the 20th century have contributed some interesting pieces of their work and they are on display at the Gold Well Open Air Museum.

Nevada Test Site -   A unique national resource, the Nevada Test Site is a massive outdoor laboratory and national experimental center that cannot be duplicated.  Larger than the state of Rhode Island, approximately 1,375 square miles, making this one of the largest restricted access areas in the United States. From 1951 until 1992, this area was used by the US government to test nuclear explosions.  The remote site is surrounded by thousands of additional acres of land withdrawn from the public domain for use as a protected wildlife range and for a military gunnery range, creating an unpopulated land area comprising some 5,470 square miles.

Southern Desert Correctional Center - The Southern Desert Correctional Center was the fifth and largest major institution in the Nevada Department of Prisons. when the center was opened in the early 1980's.

High Desert State Prison - The second of two nearby prison facilities.  High Desert which opened September 2000 is the first of a several phase prison expansion of the the Nevada Department of Prison system.

Yucca Mountain - The U.S. Department of Energy is studying Yucca Mountain, Nevada, to determine if it's a suitable place to build a geologic repository for the nation's commercial and defense spent nuclear fuel and high-level radioactive waste.

Cactus Springs - Cactus Springs is a collection of small water holes, a few cottonwood trees, mesquite thickets, and other shrubs, all of which is set in a vast expanse of flat, lower-elevation Mojave Desert scrub. There are at least two springs (with pools, but no running water), and during wet years, perhaps more.
